About Our Product

At MikaMaya Art, Each Painting is born as an original acrylic on canvas.
We chose the “Giclée” technique to reproduce our work, in order to achieve the highest quality possible, a museum standard archival print.
The “MikaMaya Art” Giclée Canvas, (pronounced "Jeeclay") represents the most recent technological advancement in the Fine Art printmaking world. The word Giclée derived from a French term, meaning “ spray of ink".
The Giclée produces a print that is completely true to the artist's original intent, and of itself has the look and feel of an original painting on canvas. Just as other methods of printmaking (lithographs, serigraphs, off-set prints) the colors of a Giclée are vibrant and rich detailing , thanks to the Giclée control over three million possible colors, over five hundred chromatic changes, and a precise control over color hue, value and density. Giclées made with pigment-based inks are estimated to last over 100 years without noticeable fade.
From the standpoint of the art collecting public, the MikaMaya Giclée Fine Art Print offers the collector the same physical properties of an original painting, and the advantages of a Fine Art Print: a Fine Work of Art at a fraction of the price of an original.

Each MikaMaya Giclée Canvas is stretched over wooden stretcher bars, by our top quality framers. The sides of the stretched canvas are beautifully colored, and a wire is attached on the back for hanging.
MikaMaya Art invests a great deal of time and effort to create for you the best “Fine Art for Kids” product, in order to fulfill your child’s developmental need for a colorful and inspiring surrounding.
It is recommended that you treat your Giclée prints the same as any original Acrylic painting. MikaMaya Giclée s are coated with an Acrylic UV protective spray and therefore maybe wiped with a cloth and touched gently by the children.

The Giclée Process:

MikaMaya and their master printer have worked many hours to create an archival canvas, that is as close a match as possible to MikaMaya’s original Acrylic paintings.
The Giclée process starts with a highly sophisticated scanning of the original painting. The image is then sent electronically to the inkjet printer ,after the artist and the master printer digitally corrected and achieved the most faithful representation of the original painting possible.
Millions of tiny ink droplets per second, smaller than the human hair, spray streams of ink onto an acid free archival canvas, one line at a time, until the image is created. This process can take up to a half hour for each print.
Your Giclée is printed on acid free archival canvas and treated with an acrylic UV protective varnish.
